Year 1

Welcome to Year 1 - Miss Rebecca Tooms and Mr Nigel Ellway

This page will tell you all about what we have been up to in the classroom! You can find our class timetables, curriculum information, spellings & learning that has taken place each term.

We would like to share our timetable with you, so that when you have an idea of the structure of the school day. This is of course subject to change with all the other exciting things that go on in the school! There are often theme days (or even weeks), visitors, trips, extra music lessons and specialist teachers. You can find this on the Newsletters Page.

Term 1:

We have had an exciting start to the year so far! With a whole school trip to Puxton Park and the beginning of Black History Month! We all enjoyed getting to play some drums and taking a trip through the African Savannah yesterday! We loved being able to make lots of noise (especially when pretending to be a herd of elephants!)

Exciting news! Yesterday, Barcelona class won an attendance award for Term 1 and we had a fantastic visit from 'Wonderstruck: Science on Fire'!Although it was a little scary at times, we thought it was amazing because it was full of lots of things that we hadn't seen or experienced before! We even got to make and fly our own rockets!

We would both like to thank you for your continued support at Shirehampton Primary School. Don't forget to check the school calendar & newsletters for other important dates for your diaries.
