Year 2

Welcome to Year 2 – Miss Katie Cree and Mrs Jo Carobene

Term 3

We have had a busy term which got off to a great start with a trip to the SS Great Britain. The children all took part in a workshop about the many achievements of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and had a guided tour of the ship. Don't forget to use the Golden Ticket that your child  bought home!

During our maths open morning some of you were able to see Maths No Problem in action.  Our next open morning is on May 5th for phonics and spelling.

We are reading Fantastic Mr Fox in English and have written recounts and discussion texts based on the book.  We are looking forward to reading more about him next term.

Have a great half term and wee look forward to seeing you on 24th February.

Term 2

Thank you to all of your support this term! It has been a busy one filled with singing, rehearsals and lots of learning! We have been learning all about Christmas and have been very busy making crafts- we hope you enjoy decorating your homes with them!

We have finished out text 'A Bear called Paddington' and will be looking at the book 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' next term. The children have loved learning and writing all about Paddington and they even researched some facts about Andean bears which inspired some lovely pieces of writing too.

Enjoy the half term break and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year!

Term 1

Welcome to a brand new academic year at Shirehampton Primary School! We hope you had a great summer break and that you were able to make some special memories together.

We have had a very busy start to this term and the children are busy learning all about different places in the world to go with our topic 'Holidays'. Here are some pictures of us looking at the atlases to find different countries and capital cities:

We have also begun to read our class text: 'A bear called Paddington'.

Our writing will be focused on his travels and all the other characters in the book he comes into contact with.

We hope to continue to share all of the exciting learning we are doing in school as the year goes by.

Thank you for your continued support.
