Christmas Jumper Swap and Sale 29-11-23

Our Christmas Jumper Swap and Sale kicked off our festive events nicely. Although we only sold a couple of jumpers, and we didn’t get many donations this year a lot of you stuck around for one of our deluxe hot chocolates.

Christmas Jumper Day 7-12-23

School looked very festive with everyone wearing their Christmas jumpers. Thanks to School Council for supporting this event and making posters to display. We raised £151.80 for Save the Children.

Christmas Fair 8-12-23

Father Christmas had set up his grotto in the school library, and children heard him read a story, sang with him, and received a special gift, before having the opportunity to sit in his sleigh. All the children who visited seemed to really enjoy it. We had lots of external stallholders this year, so a good chance to buy gifts for Christmas. We also had our own Tombola, gift, and toy stalls, as well as a reindeer food station, paint your own Christmas decoration and face painting/tattoos. A huge thankyou to our year 5/6 pupils who volunteered to run all the games at the fair. Our raffle was a huge success with some fantastic prizes donated from businesses in our local community as well as from further afield.

SPS PTA (Friends of SPS)

At Shirehampton Primary School, we are very lucky to have an active and enthusiastic PTA who work tirelessly to fundraise so we can buy ‘extras’ that we wouldn’t be able to afford from the main school budget. The PTA has monthly meetings to discuss ideas to raise funds for the school and also fun activities for the children!

What are we raising money for?

All the events that we organise are to raise funds for the school to be able to fund projects that are not possible within the school budget alone. As it is the start of a new academic year, we are working with school and the School Council to devise a ‘Wishlist’ of items that we will use this money for across the 2023-24 school year.
