Design and Technology (DT)

At Shirehampton Primary School we provide an enriching DT curriculum which promotes opportunities for children to discover and explore the process of designing, making and evaluating, whilst encouraging children to develop their creative and technical skills and understanding.  

In KS1 & KS2, Design and Technology is taught through a project-based approach using KAPOW, which is categorised into five subject areas:  

- Structures
- Mechanisms
- Electrical Systems
- Cooking and Nutrition
- Textiles
